The new addition and
renovations to St. Gabriel's Episcopal Church allows the
church to meet the needs of its rapidly expanding day care
and latchkey programs for children as well as meet the
growing needs of its Christian education programs and
fellowship activities.
The new 16,000 plus square
footage addition contains eight classrooms, a music room, a
day care office, women's and men's toilets, and an elevator
to access both new floors and unfinished space for the
future Parish Hall and kitchen facilities.
The renovation to the lower
level consists of a new corridor connection the new building
to the old, and defines the current Parish hall, which in
the future, will be turned into additional classroom/Sunday
school space.
The main level renovation
upgrades six offices, a men's toilet and provides three new
rooms for adult study, a library and a larger Sacristy.
The exterior of the new
facility was designed to blend with the existing church and
Sunday school wing. A low profile addition was added that
will become the new Parish Hall in the future. The facade of
split face block along with a backlit stainless steel cross
adds dramatic aesthetics to the west elevation.
